Volunteer Roles

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Refuge!

Volunteers are a valued part of our organisation and integral to furthering the work we do. We offer extensive training and support so that volunteers can learn and develop whilst helping to keep our services running to a high standard. Go to Volunteer Stories to learn directly from our volunteers what it’s like to volunteer with us.

We offer a variety of volunteering opportunities:

  • Supporting our teams in our Head Office in Tower Hill, London
  • If you are interested in learning about how charities function behind the scenes, and would like to develop skills in areas like Fundraising, Events or Communications, these roles are for you.

To find out when these roles become available, please sign up to our volunteer role alerts.

  • Helpline Volunteers contribute by chatting online to those who contact us through our Live Chat Service and handling calls on Refuge’s National Domestic Abuse Helpline.
  • If you would like to learn about offering direct support to survivors of domestic abuse, apply to become a Helpline Volunteer.
