Tech Abuse

4 in 5 women who had experienced abuse said their activity was monitored by their partner (Comic Relief 2016).

Women increasingly tell us about their everyday, pernicious, experiences of tech abuse.

Refuge’s new tech project will ensure its staff and services help women survive tech threats, whilst giving them the skills and confidence to engage with technology into the future.

“My ex set up a shared account for both of our phones to share apps – but that meant he could download software packages to track me. He exploited the fact that technology wasn’t really my thing – to control me and my life” – Euleen Hope, domestic abuse survivor.

There’s so much you can do to help Refuge continue to support around 6,000 women, children and men each day.

Donate now to help us protect and support those who are the victims of abuse.
