65% of children who live in households where domestic violence occurs also experience physical abuse.

In 2016-17, Refuge provided life-saving and life-changing support to 8,265 children.

Preeti, one of our child support workers, spoke of a play session with Emily:

“I was sat with the children discussing making wishes and Emily said that she had once made a wish that had come true.

“At first, Emily was apprehensive about sharing. After a moment, she looked down and started speaking more quietly and said that one time when her dad was hitting her mum in the street she wished that it wouldn’t happen any more.”

Thanks to Refuge, Emily’s wish came true.

With just one week to go until Christmas Day please support our work to help children just like Emily.
