Walk4 2016

On the 11th September 2016 over 200 Refuge supporters from around the country crossed the Walk4 start line to raise money and awareness for women and children escaping domestic violence.

Walk4 participants covered 10km and crossed 4 iconic London bridges to highlight the shocking statistic that 1 in 4 women experience domestic violence at some point in their lives – together they bought this taboo issue out from the shadows and into the light!

We were also delighted to have our fabulous supporter Helena Bonham Carter leading the walk and showing her support as she proudly crossed over Millennium Bridge with Sandra Horley, CEO of Refuge.

The day was exhilarating, moving and empowering and we are extremely grateful to everyone who took part to raise money and awareness for the life saving services Refuge provides to the 3,800 women and children we support on any given day – thank you so much!

You can read more about the day in a piece released in the Standard that was out on Sunday.
