Tax effective giving If you pay UK Tax, Gift Aid is a scheme allowing you to give a sum of money to charity, and the charity to reclaim from the Inland Revenue the basic rate of tax on your gift. This makes your donation worth more. Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. In order for your donation to qualify under the Gift Aid scheme you must ensure that you pay an amount of tax, in a year, equal or greater than the amount of tax the charity will be able to reclaim on your donation. To make your donation to Refuge go further please tick the Gift Aid box on the online donation form, it's that simple. If you have donated to Refuge in the last six years but have not made a Gift Aid declaration, please download and return our Gift Aid form as we are able to make claims in past donations. Alternatively, please contact us for a copy.
The most tax effective way to donate to Refuge on a regular basis is through a scheme called 'Payroll Giving'. This is open to all employees paid by PAYE. Call us for more information or visit the payroll giving section of our website. |
