Make a difference by donating your old mobile phoneDid you know that mobile phones are typically used for only 18 months before being replaced, and by 2005 about 100 million of these devices will be stored away in cupboards and drawers throughout Europe? Why not put yours to good use by donating it to our mobile phone appeal? By sending your old or damaged mobile phone to Refuge to be recycled you can raise much needed funds for Refuge. Furthermore your phone could put be put to good use by families and individuals in the developing world, improving local economies and quality of life. Our partner, Greener Solutions, will reformat your phone for use in the developing world and donate £3.50 to Refuge in the process. Last year Refuge raised £74,604 from the recycling of mobile phones donated by supporters. All you need to do is send in your phone! Its totally free and you don't even have to pay for the postage. Could your company support us too? Perhaps you could set up a collection point or distribute freepost envelopes to your clients and/or your colleagues. For example, CHESTNUT TRAVEL, a specialised tour operator in Derbyshire, are including Refuge mobile phone recycling bags in each of their travel information packs going out to all their customers. In this way, they are not only helping raise funds but are also raising awareness of our work and that there is somewhere women can go for help if they are experiencing domestic violence. We are very grateful to Chestnut Travel for their support. If your company would like to help please call 020 7395 7713 |
