Tell your Refuge storyHas Refuge supported you through your experiences of domestic violence? Or have you ever called the 24 hour National Domestic Violence Freephone Helpline for support? If you have used Refuge's services we need your help. We are frequently contacted by the media who are keen to highlight the issue of domestic violence, but need women who have survived abusive relationships to speak out about their story. So if you are a survivor of domestic violence and Refuge has helped you get back on your feet you could potentially help thousands of women experiencing domestic violence by showing them that help is available and there are other options. Your safety remains our priority however, so please only contact us if you are out of danger. Talking publicly about personal domestic violence experiences is not easy and not the right thing for everyone, so please don't worry if you're not ready to do so. You don't have to be identified or have your photo taken, but your words could inspire women in abusive relationships to seek help and educate society that domestic violence is a crime which should not be tolerated. If you are interested in telling your story to support future Refuge media campaigns please contact Catherine Cullen on 020 7395 7744 or catherine_cullen@refuge.org.uk |
