Help for menIf you are a man looking for information and advice this area of the website is for you. At Refuge we recognise that domestic violence can affect everyone and anyone in society. Nobody should have to live with the terror and fear of domestic violence - neither man nor woman. Refuge is a charity that supports women and children who experience domestic violence. Whilst we do not provide services for men we can refer you to groups and agencies who can help. For men who are abusedEver since we opened the world's first women's refuge in 1971, Refuge has existed to support women and children experiencing domestic violence. That is one of our principal objectives and the basis on which we raise funds for our work. Statistics show that in most incidents of domestic violence women are the victims, but of course we recognise that men are abused too. We are unable to support male victims of domestic violence but there are other organisations that do. If you are a man who is being abused, you can read our page of information and advice, including details of where you can seek help. You may also find it helpful to read the areas of the website which talk generally about domestic violence. For abusersIf you are abusive towards your partner and would like to change your behaviour, you can find out more on these pages. |
