Make a #refugeresolution this year…

Newspost image

This January, we are asking our supporters to begin the new year with a good deed, and pledge the first hour of their 2015 salary to Refuge. Will you make a #refugeresolution?

Your hour’s salary donation will help us provide our life-changing and life-saving services. In 2015, we will be supporting over 3,000 women and children each day to escape domestic violence and start building a new life, free from fear. But we will not be able to do this without your help…

If you’re an individual…
1) Find out your hourly salary by clicking here.
2) Pledge to donate an hour’s salary to Refuge by posting this badge to Twitter or Facebook and help us spread the word! Download the badge here. Don’t forget the hashtag: #refugeresolution
3) Nominate two of your friends to take part…
4) When you receive your salary, donate to us.

If you’re donating as a company…
If you run a company or organisation, and would like to encourage your employees to donate the first hour of their January salary to Refuge, simply set it up and ask them to ‘opt in’ to making the donation. When the time comes to pay your employees in January, you can deduct an hour from each employee’s paycheck, and donate on their behalf. Simple!

Employees at Shearman and Sterling, and members of the Civil Service Fast Stream programme (who came up with the #refugeresolution hashtag), are already doing this. Thanks to them all for this fabulous idea – we hope may others will follow suit.

Start the year as you mean to go on – by supporting those who are experiencing domestic violence and helping Refuge provide vital services. Thank you!
