Sandra Horley CBE, chief executive of national domestic violence charity Refuge, says:
“On any given day Refuge provides life-saving and life-changing support to 3,000 women and children – support which keeps women and children safe, whilst empowering them to rebuild their lives free from violence and fear. The comedy gala, which is hosted by our fabulous partner Benefit, will be a fantastic chance to watch some of the UK’s brightest talent, whilst helping Refuge raise awareness of domestic violence and much needed funds for our vital work. We urge all our supporters to save the date and join us for a great night out.”

Benefit have been raising awareness and funds for Refuge since 2012, and have so far generated over £100,000 for our services.

Amanda Pilkington, Head of Brand DNA for Benefit, says:
“It started off with looking for a charity that sat well with Benefit – a women/children-focussed charity. Refuge was a natural choice. It’s an amazing charity that delivers essential services to vulnerable people. Over the last 3 years we’ve tried to factor Refuge into as many projects as we could. We want ‘Raise a Laugh’ to raise yet more awareness and funds for Refuge and allow people to have fun at the same time.”
