Refuge teams up with Hot Diamonds
Hot Diamonds has designed an exclusive brooch that will be sold to raise vital funds for Refuge’s national network of life-changing, life-saving services for women and children escaping domestic violence. The brooch will be available from the Hot Diamonds website and official retailers from November 2012.
The brooch has been produced in Hot Diamonds’ trademark sterling silver and set with a single diamond. Exclusive to this collection for Refuge, the brooch also boasts a rare pink sapphire in the centre, said to offer the wearer protection and good luck.
The bespoke brooch will be called “Emmeline”, after British suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. Emmeline Pankhurst was a courageous pioneer who led the suffrage movement which granted women the right to vote. Her work was driven by a commitment to women’s equality, and it is this belief in equality and empowerment which underpins all of Refuge’s work with abused women and children. She is the perfect representative of our cause, and Refuge is delighted to launch this beautiful brooch in her name.
Sandra Horley, CBE, chief executive of Refuge, says: “I am thrilled to have the support of Hot Diamonds. Every single day Refuge helps thousands of women and children to rebuild their lives, free from violence and fear. The funds raised by the beautiful Emmeline brooch will help us to continue this vital work.”
Hot Diamonds head of PR, Leroi Hanniford, says: “We are delighted to be partnering and supporting Refuge. Domestic violence is an issue that is too often swept under the carpet. If Hot Diamonds can help highlight and raise money for the great work Refuge does daily we would be very proud.”
The Emmeline brooch is priced at £29.95. 25% of the gross profit will go directly to Refuge.
Hot Diamonds will be adding further products to the Refuge range over the coming months.
